Adam Martin
Chief Executive Officer
Adam Martin was named the chief executive officer (CEO) of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Winchester & Sewanee (STRHS – Winchester & Sewanee) in August 2022. Adam joined STRHS – Winchester & Sewanee from its sister facility Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Lawrenceburg where he served as CEO since March 2019. Prior to serving as CEO at STRHS – Lawrenceburg, Adam served as chief operating officer (COO) at Wythe County Community Hospital, another LifePoint Health facility in Wytheville, Virginia. A seasoned healthcare administrator with significant operational experience, Martin has served in diverse leadership roles, including as chief financial officer (CFO) and chief staffing officer (CSO) at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana, and assistant controller at University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. Adam holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with a Healthcare Administration emphasis, from Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri. Adam and his wife Anna live in Winchester with their two children, Hailey and Mason.
Cathy Mitchell
Chief Operating Officer
Cathy Mitchell joined the leadership team as Chief Operating Officer (COO) on May 2, 2022. Cathy joins Southern Tennessee from North Mississippi Medical Center Gilmore-Amory (NMMC) a 95-bed facility in Amory, MS, where she most recently served as COO and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
Prior to joining NMMC, Cathy served in numerous healthcare leadership roles, including CNO at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, AL and Assistant CNO at Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL. Cathy holds a Master’s Degree in nursing from the University of Texas in Arlington and a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from South University. She is an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certified nurse executive and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Cathy is also an adjunct faculty member at Bevill State Community College.
Cathy is a highly qualified healthcare leader with a tremendous amount of operational experience and is a champion for patient safety. She has a successful history of leading highly engaged managers to support and promote their teams to produce exceptional results.
Shaun Adams
Chief Financial Officer
Shaun Adams has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at STRHS-Winchester/Sewanee since January 2019. Adams began his career in 2003 with HCA as a financial auditor where he was instrumental in the leadership of auditing projects and was commended for his high performance.
In 2009, he advanced to the controller position with University Medical Center. He then joined Tennova Healthcare-Harton where he served as CFO for seven years before moving to CFO at Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon.
Shaun’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Western Kentucky University.
He is married to Rose and has three children Anna Beth, Tyler and Holli Rose. Shaun and Rose enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, live music, lake recreation and spending time with family and friends.
Danny Edwards
Chief Nursing Officer
Danny Edwards began his role as CNO in December 2022 following his position as Assistant Director of Nursing Operations at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Winchester/Sewanee. Danny graduated from Motlow State Community College with his Associates Degree in Nursing in 2007. He went on to obtain his BSN at Capella University and is currently working to obtain his MSN with a concentration in nursing administration. Danny has more than 25 years of experience as a healthcare leader with expertise in nursing excellence, operational improvements, physician relations, and driving high-quality care. Danny resides in Estill Springs with his wife Erica who is nurse practitioner. They have three children.
Ashley Brock
Physician Services Director
Ashley Brock is the Physician Services Director at Lifepoint’s Southern Tennessee Physician group in Winchester, TN where she oversees the overall operations and business processes of more than 50 employed providers. Ashley first joined the team at STRHS as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in 2013 and transitioned to the Director of Imaging in 2016. Ashley attended Wallace State for Radiologic Technology, Chattanooga State for Nuclear Medicine Technology, ETSU for a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health, and WGU for her MBA in Healthcare Administration. Ashley is a leader in the community and serves as a board member for Multi County Cancer Support Network.
Lenore Blackwell
Human Resources Director
Lenore Blackwell joined Southern Tennessee in October 2019 as the STRHS Market Human Resources Director. Lenore has a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and has been in the healthcare HR field for more than thirty years beginning her career with National Medical Enterprises corporate office in Tampa, Florida and later relocated to Tennessee to work with Tennova Healthcare-Harton.
Lenore has been very active in her community and local civic organizations in leadership roles including Chamber President, Rotary President and serving on various Boards. Lenore and her husband, Paul, have two children, Meghan and Jonathan and reside in Tullahoma and enjoy camping and hiking, along with their dog, Buddy.
